VERTICAL POLE

The vertical post of the unit will be made of stainless steel and finished with a black powdercoat. It will be 4" square tubing with a 3/16" wall thickness. Welded at the bottom of the vertical pole will be a 3/8" thick baseplate and 2 support gussets. This will allow the unit to be installed using an anchoring system made of stainless steel anchor bolts. A polycover that is UV resistant will also be included to cover the attachment hardware.

EXTENSION ARM

The main (adjustable) extension arm tube is constructed of dual 1 ½” x 3” (11 ga.) STAINLESS STEEL tubing. Single-strut extension arm designs are not considered equal. The extension provides a minimum of 36” from the front of the post to the face of the backboard at any given playing height. The height adjustment crank cylinder has a minimum capacity rating of 2000# and is located no lower than 3’ from the pool deck to make adjustments easy when standing on the pool deck. Pole structure design permits infinite rim height adjustments. The adjustment crank is removable to prevent unwanted adjustment. A spring-loaded backup safety device is included to minimize the effort required to adjust the goal height when raising or lowering the unit. The pole design allows the rim to be mounted directly to the extension arm through the backboard to reduce stress on the backboard when a player hangs on the rim. An easy-to-read height adjustment label registers the rim height.

RIM

Flexible type so as to absorb the stress of player contact. The rim is of institutional quality with an official 5/8” diameter ring. Ring-opening diameter is a standard 18” I.D. Rim has an orange powder-coated finish. Heavy-duty nylon is provided.
