The RuffNeck Fixed Height Basketball Goal is a cost-effective option that doesn't skimp on durability. It features a "Fixed Height" pole system made of 4 1/2" O.D. galvanized schedule 40 tubing, with a direct rim mount design that eliminates backboard stress. The backboard is further supported by two tubular braces fixed to the neck of the post. Installation is made easy with the unique "nose-cone" backboard mounting design.

VERTICAL POLE

The vertical post is constructed of 4 ½" O.D. RS40 zinc flow coated steel tubing with a 7 ga. wall thickness. It allows for a 48" bury into the ground and a 48" setback from post to backboard. Two 1" round galvanized tubular braces support the top corners of the backboard and connect directly to the pole. The pole is designed so that the rim mounts directly through the backboard into the horizontal extension to eliminate backboard stress.

RIM

The rim is made to absorb the stress of player contact with a flexible design. A heavy-duty compression wire spring provides spring action, and the entire internal mechanism is enclosed with a steel cover plate. All structural components are built using no less than 3/16" steel.

The institutional-quality rim features an official 5/8" diameter high-strength steel ring supported by a 3/16" brace that supports 60% of the ring. It is punched to mount either a 3"x 4" or 5"x 5" hole pattern and has an orange powder-coated finish.
